Borscht Soup Mix

Full name of the product: Borscht Soup Mix
You will need: 600 g boned beef or pork
Method of Cooking: Simmering in a pot
Ingredients: Dried vegetables (cabbage, beets, onions, carrots, potatoes, garlic, parsnips), sea salt, dried herbs (parsley, dill, chives), dried spices (black pepper, red pepper)
Directions:
Step 1. Put the meat into a suitable pot, add 2.5 l of cold water, bring to a boil, cover and simmer over low heat for 100 to 110 minutes, skimming the foam occasionally. Add no salt! | |
Step 2. Take the meat out of the pot, remove bones and excess fat, and chop into small chunks. Strain the broth. | |
Step 3. Return the strained broth to the pot, add the chopped meat and the Borscht Soup Mix and mix well. | |
Step 4. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer over low heat for 20 to 25 minutes until potato is soft, stirring occasionally. | |
Step 5. Serve with a tablespoon of sour cream on each plate. |
You may also use chicken instead of meat. In that case decrease the time of cooking the broth to 80 minutes.
