Edible poppy seeds are the nutritious seeds of Papaver Somniferum. They were originally cultivated in the Mediterranean basin. Poppy seeds contain up to 60% of fats and some countries use them to make cooking oils.
Uses: Ripe poppy seeds are widely used for making pastries, added to the dough and filling, pies, cakes, desserts, buns, pretzels, and rolls and may be also used for sprinkling.
