Ground bird cherry is dried and ground fruits of Padus avium Mill. Dried fruits are ground together with the seeds to produce flour (powder) that may be used to make fillings for pies, vatrushka buns, and Siberian buns as well as for honey kissel.

Uses:
- Culinary: Ground bird cherry may be used as an additive to dough or to make fillings for pies and cakes. Finely ground (powdered) bird cherry will not crunch in the teeth and will help to get a delicate, sophisticated flavor of confectionery products.
- Medicinal: Decoctions and infusions of ground bird cherry are widely used in folk medicine as they are packed with phytoncides that have an anti-inflammatory, disinfectant effect.
